Long Time No Post

Well I haven't done much in the way of sewing. I have alot of ideas swirling around in my head but because I have not felt well I haven't gotten much of anything done. Keith recently let me sign up for the Anita Goodesign embroidery club. I am super excited about that. There are alot of cute kids designs that I want to incorporate into the Nursery.

I have got to get hot on the bumpers for the crib though I have heard that they don't recommend that you use bumpers in your crip any more so they will be strictly for decorative purposes and used when we convert the crib to a toddler bed.

I have done alot of reading and searching for embroidery designs and have found so many neat sites. If you have an embroidery machine you should check some of these sites out. The first that I found today was Nelly Beans. There are some really cute designs, kid friendly. There are some in the hoop candy cane holders or pencil holders. Would be great for class room gifts.

Then I suggest you stalk Stitch Delight. They have daily dollar deals and have some really cute Free Standing Lace designs. Looking for snowflakes or gift boxes.. this is a good place to look.

No pictures this time but stay tuned for more I have Block of the month photos and have been working on some other things.. Just trying to clear all these drafted posts before I start new ones.

FNSI... Results

Well I didn't quite get the things that I wanted done last night but I did get some things sewn. No finishes but hey at least the sewing machine was running. The best part is I did more in the last 24 hours than I have done in over a week. Now if I could keep up the momentum that would be great!! So here are some pictures of what I got accomplished:

This is clue 3.. not finished they have since been cut into HST's and I need to square them up so that I can use them in another clue but the sewing is done.

This is clue 4 minus some ironing. So I did get something done last night.. Maybe we will actually have a lap quilt for next Christmas. All in all I am happy with what I have gotten done. Hope everyone else had a great Friday Night Sew In.

Friday Night Sew In

Well its that time of the month again. Bobbi over at Crafty Vegas Mom is hosting this months Friday Night Sew In. If you haven't heard about it its one friday a month where you plan to sew (or craft) until you can't see straight any more.

I have talked to my girls in the Silly Gals Quilting group and some of them are game as well. Its supposed to be rainy and yuck here in Lemoore and Mom and I had no plans of going anywhere any way. In fact we figured that since it was supposed to be nasty that we would have a movie night anyway.

Do you have projects in mind already? I have a few. In talking to my husband I think that this year 2012 is going to be the year of the home made/ hand made gifts for christmas. Well I had better get to getting things ready as I can not do marathon cutting sessions.

I leave you with a picture of Diego.. He is our foster kitty desperatly in need of a forever home as he also has 5 brothers and sisters needing homes.

The mommies of the adorable babies need homes as well. We took them in and are trying to find people who will love them as much as we have tried. I already had 4 of my own before the mommies adopted our yard for thier home. Due to summer heat we brought them inside to have their kitties and I was too sick to find them homes when it was apparently prime time to re-home them.

January Guild Meeting

Tonight is the January guild meeting. It was my turn to donate to our little quilt raffle. The little quilt raffle is held every month and the members of the guild buy tickets 1 for a $1 or 6 for $5. Its to help raise money for the guilds activities like materials for charity quilts and what not.

Being January I thought it would be nice to donate something that said winter. I thought and thought and of course procrastinated. Here is the table runner that I came up with:

Mom and I thought that it was cute. In fact we were hoping to win it back.. smiles. We were 2 numbers off from winning it back too. How funny would that have been. I couldn't in good concence take it back home I would have let them pick another ticket. Here is a closer picture of the embroidery snowman.

The snowman can be found at Embroidery Library . I have gotten alot of great designs from there. Well that is all for me today.
